Oven baked fish

Bunging something in the oven is always so satisfying. Whether it’s a homemade fish pie or something you have picked up that’s already prepared, just turn dial and let the only thing to get hot and bothered in your kitchen to be your oven.

Less fuss, more lush – that’s what we think of the pre-arranged sauce and fish bags that brands, retailers and mongers have brought out over the last 4 years.

Fillets of fish can be cooked in a moderate oven (190 °C / gas mark 5). Depending on the size of the fillet, it should only take around 10 minutes – you’ll know it’s cooked when the flesh goes from a translucent flesh to opaque. When you put your fork into it, it should flake easily.

You can even cook fish from frozen so what couldn’t be more simple and as lots of aromas stay within the oven it’s a perfect if you don’t like smells lingering in your kitchen.
