Fish is a great choice for all the family, but it’s just as good if you’re cooking for one. Frozen fish fillets and bags of prawns or mixed seafood are a handy choice as you can defrost as much or as little as you want for a meal. Also, look in supermarkets for single portions of fish or ask your fishmonger for an individual portion. Many supermarkets also sell pre-packed individual servings of fish such as cod, haddock, pollock or salmon that come with a sauce to help cut down on preparation even more. Meanwhile, tinned fish is handy – if you only want to eat half the tin, simply transfer the remainder to a sealed container and store in the fridge to enjoy the next day. And for the ultimate convenience, fish cakes and fish fingers come in ready-made portions making them perfect foods for one.
