How much protein?
In the UK, most of us get enough protein in our diet. Health guidelines recommend we should have about 50g a day17. In fact, figures from the National Diet and Nutrition Survey show that men effortlessly tuck into an average of 82g protein a day, and women, an average of 64g a day15.
However, there are times in life when it’s worth paying more attention to what we eat, in order to make sure we get enough protein (together with other nutrients).
