Seafood is full of so many nutrients but did you know that these are beneficial for your beauty regime?
We are always looking for the best creams, serums, lotions and potions to put on our face and body but sometimes forget that it may start from within. Adding seafood to your diet is a great place to being.
Did you know that seafood contains different types of B vitamins, which are great for your skin, hair and teeth as well as so many other areas of your body? They are
- Riboflavin (Vitamin B2) – It’s important for normal vision and skin and plays a role in protecting cells from oxidative damage. Find it in crabmeat, flounder, herring, mackerel, mussels and sardines.
- Niacin (Vitamin B3) – It helps to maintain normal skin. It also helps to reduce tiredness and fatigue. Many varieties of fish contain niacin.
- Biotin – Contributes to normal psychological functions and is needed for the body to use protein, carbohydrate and fat. It helps maintain normal hair and skin.
- Pantothenic acid – Contributes to making and metabolising steroid hormones, vitamin D and some neurotransmitters. It plays a role in normal mental performance and helps to reduce tiredness and fatigue.
From hair to teeth to skin, eating seafood can help in so many ways. Eating more langoustine, canned sardines and pilchards contain calcium, which help in the maintenance of teeth!
