Seafood of the Month - Coley

Fri 1st September 2017
Coley 770X600

Did you know that coley is also known as saithe? It can often be a good value option, excellent news for those who are watching their purse strings! Plus it’s available for most of the year!

There are so many ways that you can cook this delicious fish, from baking to deep frying, from grilling to poaching, and even stir-frying. It really is a flexible fish!

Try out our Thai red coley curry for an introduction to this lovely fish. It’s ready in less than 20 minutes and only needs a handful of ingredients - even better for a new cook who is trying something new.

Now that autumn is near, this pan-fried coley mash is sure to warm you up on a chilly evening. Coley is a fantastic alternative to haddock or cod.

From our friend Paul Gildroy, Head Chef at Magpie Café in Whitby, we have this mouth-watering pan roast coley with borlottie beans! This dish is perfect for those foodies who are looking to impress their dinner guests!

We would love to see any coley recipes that you will be rustling up this month, so tweet us at @fishisthedish.
